The FPS Changer uses a timed Canvas capture loop to re-sample the video at the target frame rate. The video plays normally while a setInterval or requestAnimationFrame loop captures frames at the new rate. When reducing FPS (e.g., 60 to 24fps), frames are skipped by sampling less frequently. When increasing FPS, the same frame is captured multiple times (frame duplication) since the browser cannot create new intermediate frames. MediaRecorder captures the canvas stream at the target frame rate. The tool configures the canvas capture framerate via captureStream(fps) for accurate timing. Audio is captured independently and remains at its original quality and speed.
